The question should really have been put to rpg-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxx If the value of "pos" at the first execution of the "dow" comparison, you will get an array index error. For a group of "and"ed clauses, the first comparison is checked first. If "pos" is at zero when this loop begins, it will not execute even once. Maybe you really want: pos = 1 dow pos < 52 and ( InputMAD( pos ) <> ';' ) eval pos = pos + 1 enddo or pos = 0 dou pos = 52 or ( InputMAD( pos ) = ';' ) eval pos = pos + 1 enddo both of which will finish the same. - Alan If that doesn't get it, pos your question over there: rpg-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx
