I tried this and got the oath name as is in mixed case but with full quotes, as you say. I did not get the extra character at the end. However, I did not use the &MSG thing. What is in that msg description?

I seem to remember something about using dialog variables, and then the case is not converted. Trouble is, you can't use those in menu-type panel groups - you need to have a program fill in the string values. You can do menus this way - they'd become *PGM type menus that use a panel group with only a MENU area in it, and that actually gives you some flexibility, although there is more work in responding to the various options, etc. I've just started down this route, so I have only a little experience with this.

Hi All,

I try to get this uim menu code right:

:MENUI OPTION=11
HELP='DSTM/OPT11H'
ACTION='CMD ?EDTF "/QOpenSys/sde/configuration/ffer.cfg"'
.&MSG(MNU09C1).

The idea is that the EDTF is prompted with the directory in single quotes
and in the case as typed in the source since qopensys is case sensitive. I
have tried all sorts of combinations single and double quote combinations
but i had no luck. The FM does not mention anything on quoting in UIM
panels.

If i include the text in single quotes, the directory names are uppercased.

The combination above seems to run the best but i get strange results, there
is a "g" appended to the filename so i end up editing the cfgg file

Is there a uim guru around??

Wim
