Why would you not be able to verify a validation list entry if QRETSVRSEC is
set to '0' in V5R2?

- I thought the '0' only meant that the encrypted data would not be stored
with (and could not be retrieved from) the entry - as defined by the
QsyEncryptData attribute:

QSY_VFY_ONLY - The data to be encrypted can only be used to verify an entry.
(Default).

QSY_VFY_FIND - The data to be encrypted can be used to verify an entry and
can be returned on a find operation.
If QSY_VFY_FIND is specified QRETSVRSEC determines if the encrypted data
actually will be stored with the entry.

- What you are saying is that QRETSVRSEC also has effect if QSY_VFY_ONLY is
specified - did I get that right?
