We have a pair of APC 2200s, powering a 510, a 170, a 40S, a D02, 2 Linux boxes, 2 Windoze boxes, and assorted auxiliary equipment, and except for some "false alarm" shutdowns (that my now-famous widgets corrected, as well as providing power-failure-shutdown warnings to the two oldest machines), they've worked rather well, particularly now that we have multiple vendors to go to for new batteries, and a local recycling depot that neither insists on selling us packs, nor charges a disposal fee. Which is to say, take care of your battery vendors, and they'll take care of you. -- JHHL
