Dave: Which 3570 do you have, and are you going to sell it? Also, Rob, I am interested in errors you have had with the 3570. As far as a UPS goes, Best Power makes very good units and are AS400 friendly. If you want true UNINTERRUPTABLE power, we use a combo of a Best UPS and a generator. We have a 20kvA generator that powers a 13kVa Best UPS that powers our computer room (9 AS400s and assorted PC servers and comm gear). We also have another generator (12kVa) that powers all the A/C units for the data center. With automated transfer switches, the whole thing works very nicely, not to mention a message to the Treo that tells me we have switched to generator. cjg Carl J. It is already on a UPS with other equipment, but we need one for the AS400 only as a backup. Can anyone recommend any vendors or models? We are also looking for a new tape drive unit. We are currently using 3570 and need something faster, not necessarily one that will hold more data on a tape, although I figure the two will probably come together. We perform multiple backups at the same time (we have two 3570 drives) so that may be a factor as well. Again, any recommendations? Thanks, Dave _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
