If I remember correctly... I was thinking that dumbtubes worked something like a block mode.. ie everything is local to the term and when you press "enter" then it went to the controller... How about just swapping the dumbtube with a working one to see if it moves... _____________________ Kirk Goins CCNA Systems Engineer, Manage Inc. Thanks Andy, Also just had the guy call me and he was discussing this with another guy there and there was a person in there doing some (phone) cabling (they also do our data cabling) and he was pulling cable within 10 feet of this device. So we are wondering if once he got up in the ceiling, he might have accidentally pulled and nicked this cable. They are due back onsite next week and we are going to have them test the line (we don't have the equipment to do that...). Thanks ! And keep your fingers crossed - I am putting the BOS e-Twin@x in our budget and hope to get rid of ALL of the Perle's ! :-) Chuck -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces+clewis=iquest.net@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces+clewis=iquest.net@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andy Nolen-Parkhouse Sent: Friday, February 06, 2004 2:52 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: Dumb Terminal Problems... Chuck, I would guess that your Perle controller has hiccupped. Keystroke movements executed locally (in configuration mode) are quick but keystrokes executed with the workstation controller are slow. My first try would be a quick reboot of the controller. Your initial trial and error seems to have eliminated the terminal as the problem.
