Art, Once it is expired, you can only change it using option 21 from the control panel. This starts DST to the main console. If on an LPAR box, you can use the partition status screen to change the console to DST mode. This is the only way to change the password once it is expired. When you logoff the DST console it returns to normal. I believe this information is also in the Information Center. It happened to me.
