Auto Tuning

I've always noticed that the Auto Tuning function of OS/400...

Description  . . . . . :   Performance adjustment

 

 

Performance adjustment . . . :   3          0=No adjustment

 
1=Adjustment at IPL               
 
2=Adjustment at IPL and automatic 
 
adjustment                      
                                                                 3=Automatic
adjustment            
 


.. never lowers the activity level (MAX Active from WRKSYSSTS) for a storage
pool, it just raises them slowly over time.

Does anyone know why this is?
