Scanning from a PC out on the network is 'workable', but numerous problems are overcome by having an iSeries native solution running instead. What I've been most curious about is the result of running scanning from an integrated Windows card. This would be an intermediate level between those extremes. Communication should/could then be via the internal 'virtual LAN'. I haven't seen comments from anyone that indicated that configuration. What's the cost nowadays to use such a card?
