Actually it is an interactive or batch job. Just the one that is accessing the DB and causing the trigger event.

Triggers run in the job that is processing the file. I believe that this even applies to activation groups. If your trigger is ACTGRP(*CALLER) it will run in the same group as the application program.

You can think of trigger programs as being indirectly called by the IO statements in your program.
