My suspicion is that IBM will be very happy to sell them a new one, and not much else. The used marketplace is SO shady, that they won't want to open that can of worms. IBM will be happy to take their money for the replacement (and would likely break sequential delivery - although it's my understanding that models 800/810 are readily available), and take their money when the stolen one goes on maintenance. Whomever stole it likely has no idea of what they have, and will likely never use it. Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> will IBM help by putting the system serial number on some sort of watch list? (I know it can be done) I don't know what size an 800 is, but our 810 still is quite heavy and I would think would be noticable if two people were loading it into a car/truck. If it is the size of our 720, wouldn't they need a forklift? Yup. One of our customers had theirs stolen. Never saw it again. We bought them another quick that we found cheap used. After a while (after getting the insurance claims together) they bought a new one. We can't imagine they were able to do much with it and we suspect it ended up in a dumpster somewhere. btw, are you in Utah? Our customer that had theirs stolen is also in Utah. Maybe Utah is having an outbreak of iSeries thefts?
