Some more information on this thread:
I searched as suggested for the SQL_DECIMAL and digged in all
directions. Didn't find any thing clear.
Then I tried something else:
Since I am having problems with VB..., went into Borland's Delphi, and
defined the "remote DataBase" under BDE Administrator using BDE engine
via ODBC.
Using Borland SQL Explorer I could access CMF data without problems,
even those CFPLVL and CFTLVL that are defined as 15/5... This I
expected, for as mentioned before, had no problems either with MS Word,
Excel, Access...
Then I wrote a simple Delphy program accessing same CMF file using same
BDE definition. This, I expected to fail, just as with the original VB
program I started with... Surprise, everything worked correct.
So, if ODBC works well with 15/5 fields for MS Word, Excel, Access and
also for Borland's SQL Explorer, and also for a Delphi program... why
should it fail for a VB program?
It's driving me nuts... Thanks everybody.
