Didn't IBM used to sell a product called Adstar ADSM or something like
that?  I seem to remember that it had a Windows "agent" that could backup
to an iSeries tape device.  I never hear this product anymore so I do not
know if it became part of BRMS or part of Tivoli or what.  However, it
seems like IBM would have some kind of solution in this area.

You cannot directly save from the QNTC "share", but you could copy the
files
to your own directory and save from there.  Another thought would be to
"zip" up the files from that remote dir and the save that local file.
