I went through my old stuff and dug up the programs & Java classes we had
spoke of and worked on about a year ago.  I also downloaded the source from
Aaron Bartell.  I think I can put all of these together and make a low
impact system to integrate  JavaMail pretty painlessly.

I was hoping that IBM would clean up the SMTP implementation -- but that
does not appear to be happening.  The problems have been there for as long
as I remember....  My boss and I had a conversation about this issue -- he
said "Maybe they will fix it in V5R3".. my response was "We said that about
V5R1 and V5R2, do you really think they will clean it up?"....
