Thanks for the replies.  I feel like smacking myself in the head.  I knew
that you could bring the primary to restricted state to do save entire
system.  I'm used to my custom option doing an IPL after the save.  Which of
course is a problem.

So, lets rephrase the question.   What's the best way to bring down
secondary OS/400 from a CL program.
Currently I'm planning on a RUNRMTCMD CMD(PWRDWNSYS<...>) .  Is this the
only way?

Secondly, has anybody tried to use IBM routines (out of the SAVE menu option
21 job stream) for shutting down the IxS and unmounting the NFS in some
other CL.
