what does the job log say ? at a guess I'd be looking for a network server or something similar not varying off. Is there a secondary or group job running on the console ? Somethings not shutting down and the best way to find it is go into the office and watch what happens (sorry about that chief !)

this kinda thing is why I like to have my own shutdown routines and always shut this stuff down explicitly in advance before running it manually.

I am not getting a go save 21 to work in unattended mode.

I followed the backup and recovery guide instructions but the job never
kicks
off.

Here's what I did:

signon as qsecofr to dsp01 in qctl
init tapes as needed in tap02
qinactitv-*none; Yes
CPA3708 in wrkrpyle?  Yes
selected option 21
  device=tap02
  prompt=N
  chk act files=N
  msg queue=*notify
  start time=21:15:00
  vary network srvrs=*none
  unmount file sys=N
  print sys info=Y
  use sys reply list=Y

It prints the sys info and then leaves me with CPI3716 as expected.

21:15:00 arrives and passes but the job never starts. There are no
messages on
qsysopr or qsecofr. WRKACTJOB shows DSP01 in DSPW status. I've done this
twice now with the same results. This job takes 12 hours so it is not
something that can be casually scheduled.

We have an 830 at V5R2.

Help me OB1 Kenobe.

Jerry
