Why the self-test (and the APC-to-AS/400 adapter cable wiring) would fail to take into account that the combination of ON BATTERY and LOW BATTERY signals adds up to IMMEDIATE LIC DISASTER POWER-DOWN, and why there's no provision in the LIC for those two signals to come on together as a result of a failed self-test, is what I'm trying to figure out. That and how to prevent it from happening while still allowing a real power outage of more than 2 minutes to trigger a power-down, are the issue here. A new set of batteries has been on the way since yesterday. A solution to the self-test dilemma may take a bit longer. -- JHHL
