The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
DDM is cool because you don't even need to transfer the data - data on the
remote is visible and usable on the local by creating a *DDMF. CRTDDMF does
the trick, and you can make an *IP type, so you don't even need to have
SNADS running. The DDM file can be named in an RPG program and used directly.
OTOH, SNADS is pretty bulletproof. And it's pretty easy to set up. You can
use AnyNet (SNA over IP) if you want - a little slower potentially but easy
to do. I've done it at my work and can help you - contact me offline if you
want.

Subject: Using SNADS to transfer file
We currently use FTP to transfer flat files from iSeries to Unix box.
The Unix box will be replaced by another iSeries.
