If this is a CL program, there's also the ability to set this at compile time. Delete the CL program first. In PDM, select option 14 and press F4. Make sure that you leave the replace parameter set to *no. Press F10, and change the user profile parameter to *owner. Press enter, and you're done. To understand why you need to delete the program first, press F1 while the cursor is on the user profile parameter, and read the help text for a little known secret. Change the owner of the program to whoever actually has the authority you want to adopt, then do a CHGPGM and set USRPRF(*OWNER) and USEADPAUT(*YES). Now, when someone runs that program, they are effectively using the authority of the programs owner. Word of caution, however, adopted authority doesn't work with most IFS commands ... for that you have to actually switch user profiles. > I have a menu option that calls an interactive program that saves certain > files then a library. Yes, adopted authority should work fine in that scenario. david _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
