In CAX, when you configured the printer, did you check the "Transform dataon AS400" box on the printer config? When this is checked, the print stream is rendered by Host Print Transform. Select the Printer model (or the closest one you can find..... I didn't see EPFX980 in the list...) and you should be able to print AFPDS spool files (not *IPDS, but AFPDS supports barcoding too).
