Allowing cookies is a _must_ to access our web site. Without them, we'd be hammering databases way too often. We don't use them to do much tracking though, as such. Just basic stuff like user id, what kind of search you prefer, preferred language, etc. Since ours is a subscription system, our paying customers _prefer_ to know who is accessing it, so we email them monthly reports with their statistics (if they so choose). If they block cookies, they severely restrict what they can do on the system (our free service is quite limited).
