The 400 would need communications to a router, most people use LAN nowadays. That router would need communications to the router at the other site. That can be done via any number of methods: T1, wireless antenna's, etc. Then the remote router would need the ethernet connection to the remote equipment. Now, if you use the internet to connect these two routers you are probably going to want to set up VPN on them. It you want to support multiple locations you'll probably end up with a firewall with every site that has a router. You'll need TCP/IP configured on the 400. You'll need an ethernet card. That's it in a nutshell. Rob Berendt -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." It would be needed to support a second (no local facility). Remote 5250 isn't enough. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
