Will a multiple row insert from a sub-select work. Something like this.

insert into test (itnbr, house) select itnbr, house from amfliba/itembl
  where itnbr = '01136'

Thanks,

Mark

I'm not 100% clear on the details, but in this case we have an application
in Domino that offers our business partners the opportunity to upload
information from their systems (orders, sales forecasts, RFQs, whatever).
Once their data is in Domino, we want to move it over to our AS/400, and
our developer has chosen SQL inserts for the task.

There may well be a better way, but he's been doing a fair number of
Domino to AS/400 integration projects here, and I think he's pretty
familiar with the possibilities. Doing row-at-a-time inserts works, but
it's just kind of slow, so I told him I'd see if I could find a way to
speed it up, and I thought multiple row inserts might work.
