Hey Jan!

Excellent question!! Unfortunately.. as others stated, no...

There was an interview (in News/400??) with Dr. Frank Soltis (Chief
Architect and one-a the MANY "grandfathers" of CPF/OS/400) in the past 2 or
3 months... According to Dr. Soltis, it doesn't appear that OS/400 will run
on pSeries/RS/6000 nor mainframe 390 (or some combo thereof) for a couple
years or so. When asked when/whether OS/400 would run mainframe code, iirc,
Dr. Soltis reply was (approx.) "How would you market that thing?" (If
anyone has a link, I'd like to read that again as the interview was, imo,
outstanding.)

If you have an interest in looking at OS/400, out of curiosity, contact me
offlist (as I have a couple servers on the Net gathering dust). They're not
set up to run PASE yet (which is a POSIX-type environment), nor a Linux LPAR
(Logical Partition), but one probably could be if you had a real interest.
You may find the core OS/400 functionality interesting also.

Regards,
jt
