Can't tell you exactly which doc, but IBM support has an apar or knowledge
base
doc (free) that describes the tape drive compatibilities. Some newer drives
may not read
525 compressed.
I have also seen that some ptfs (at certain releases) have been required to
restore very old stuff.
These ptfs may not be in the cume cds.
