I've found over the course of the 15 years or so that we've had 27x132 capability that most project managers never ever want to introduce it to the users. Just fold the subfile if necessary, or use function keys to "window" left & right. Reasons I have heard include 1) additional headaches and costs to maintain two sets of the same screens, 2) need to account for "lowest common denominator" amongst programmer skills, 3) if the users see 27x132 is possible, then they'll want all of their other apps to be converted to 27x132. Originally, I know a real limitation was that most display hardware was not 27x132 capable, but that is mostly a moot point by now. Of course, the default config for every emulator I've come across is 24x80, so anyone configured with the default would have to have their configuration changed to 27x132 before they could use such an app. Personally (but a moot point at this stage in the game), I'd rather see that every display that was 27x132 capable automatically be configured that way, and something in the user profile would trigger 27x132 preference.
