We have one model ir8500 and 5 ir5000-6000's cannon copier/printers
networked statewide. They all are configured to be PCL6. I do know that we
did have to have all of them checked for firmware and included fonts for
consistency across the corporation. We are at V5R1 with a Model 730.

On the iSeries only create outq's with the following:
 CRTOUTQ OUTQ(COPIER)
         RMTSYS(*INTNETADR)
         RMTPRTQ(LP)
         AUTOSTRWTR(1)
         CNNTYPE(*IP)
         DESTTYPE(*OTHER)
         MFRTYPMDL(*HP4)
INTNETADR('255.255.255.255') (put in IP address of copier)
         SEPPAGE(*NO)
         TEXT('Copier outq')

They start up as RMT writers. No, we don't have control over the pagerange,
but haven't had any problems. I was not able to get them to work when
created as devices. They work a treat and are much faster and include
duplexing. We found a noticable (15-30%) decrease in our toner budget. IT
pays for the toner in printers, but we have a corporate contract for the
copiers that includes toner.
