The problem I have is these are remote locations (another state) and they do not have people on hand that know anything about the network. I am hoping to fix this without making a trip. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Chris Bipes Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2003 11:34 AM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: Socket program problem Sounds like you have a router, firewall or switch that is being overloaded by the amount of data being written by the AS400. This is causing your PC to loose the connections and the data to be dropped. By waiting for the ACK for each record, you will slow down the sending and fix the overload, (buffer overrun). Yes this will patch your problem and is a good work around. I still think you should be looking at the differences between the equipment between the PC and the AS400 for those 2 sites. Some where you have a bottle neck in your network. Chris Bipes -----Original Message----- From: John Allen Well, I have tried everything I can think of and what you guys suggested and still losing the connection before all data is received by the PC client. I am going to explain what is happening in a bit more detail in the hopes I am doing something wrong. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
