Even if you're not 24/7, do NOT shut down your iSeries (or any machine if
possible) - your chances of losing a disk drive are much greater with the
spin-up/shut down cycles.

And IPL once a month.

And RCLSTG when the system complains or if the "Verify system objects" in GO
INSTALL says so, not at system backup time.

Now obviously you can't do this if you are a 24/7 shop, but if you are a
8-5, 5 days a week, shop is there a reason you shouldn't? Here is a forum
