Currently, when doing our downtimes, we do: RCLSTG, etc, Save of entire system Some cleanup. GO PTF 8. Install program temporary fix package However, since we are moving to Virtual Optical drives instead of the CD's I am thinking of doing the GO PTF, 8, earlier in the week and not telling it to IPL. That will free up some save time since now there won't be that 3GB used up by the virtual optical drives. Concerns are these: 1) Is it dangerous to load/apply these ptf's prior to the save? 2) I realize that the GO PTF, 8, is a delayed ptf. However do some of these apply immediate even if you tell it delayed? I think I recall there were even certain ptf's that simply doing a LODPTF on automatically applied them; and permanently. I wouldn't want to affect running applications by doing this. Rob Berendt -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
