Another way besides DTAARA? Well... a lot of places use a constant file with a record with all sorts of system wide or application wide values. Typically I see fields that include the company name left justified, company name center justified, company name right justified. Next A/P check Number, next A/P voucher number, next Payroll Check Number, next Invoice number, and last month closed. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Date: Monday, August 11, 2003 12:03:29 To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Row locks in DB2/400 UDB That's great, but you still don't know what key was assigned, so you can't redisplay the posted record. As far as I can tell, the best way to deal with this and get that important tidbit is by using a single program issuing keys based on a data area value. If there's a non-DTAARA way to do this, I'd love to know! -Zak Metz
