> From: rob@xxxxxxxxx > > Is that as bad as only having some function available via 5250? No. It's much, much worse. I've never blown a disk drive on my 5250 terminal. If for some reason it does die, I've got a spare that cost me $50. I can replace the terminal in 20 seconds. If I blow up my OpsNav workstation, all those cute little GUI-only functions are lost for as long as it takes to configure the PC, load Windows and reinstall OpsNav. Of course, I could have a $1000 backup PC that sits around doing nothing. Personally, I prefer the $50 dumb tube. GUI tubes are great, but leave my system configuration capabilities green screen, please. Or at the very least, have the stuff browser based, so that I can access it from any PC with a browser. Thick clients don't make sense for system administration. Joe
