A full domain controller would take a lot of CPU and disk access from the iSeries (as every logon or logoff synchronizes a gigabyte of data from the PC to the domain, etc) and can be done easily and cheaply with Samba on my FreeBSD PC. I've got a nice $400 Dell server with mirrored hard drives handling my domain logons... I don't really want to bog down my $50000 iSeries which is already much slower than the FreeBSD machine.
