What you missed is my DMZ is access from the internet through a firewall. A second firewall separates the internal LAN from the DMZ. There is no inbound internet traffic to the internal LAN unless it is first processed from a DMZ server. These processed request are then sent from DMZ server, not internet, to iSeries thought second firewall. That to me is more secure than putting our transaction server with all of our applications and databases, (iSeries), directly into the DMZ. -----Original Message----- From: Nathan M. Andelin The main purpose of the firewall is to filter traffic. I brought it up because Chris Bipes described a home-grown Windows based service essentially filtering traffic to the AS/400. In general, would one rather have firewalls filtering traffic to the AS/400, or home-grown Windows applications?
