Don, >From the company name and area code, I'm assuming you're in Richmond as well. Coverage in town is good, and out by my house (Midlothian) is not bad. When I decided to get a Vision enabled phone, I read some reviews and found that the LG5350 got high marks for handling weak signals. I can vouch for the fact that it's much better than the old Samsung phone I had. As for Rob's need for pervasive computing, I don't know that it would be much help. Aren't there programs out there that will monitor for messages and send e-mail. We actually wrote our own. As to how to deal with them, I don't think the LG5350 would be much help, unless IBM has a version of iSeries Access for Web that is optimized for the Openwave browser (what the LG and most other phones use). Or maybe run IAW through Websphere Transcoding Publisher? That might be fun. If you have a VPN, I think that most VPN manufacturers make clients for both PalmOS and WinCE. That and a TN5250 client might be the way to go. Mike E. We now have Sprint for our company mobile phones and the coverage is good as long as one is near a heavily populated area or an interstate highway. Their web site has a map that shows where the coverage is so I would advise examining that before making any decisions. I get good reception at my house but a coworker who lives less than five miles away has to stand in the street to get a signal. Donald R.
