Let me guess what the application is: Customer ftp's a file to you. This is on your iSeries in your DMZ. Your primary iSeries, outside of your DMZ, polls for the existance of this file. And tries to read it. You have no control over header records to another file, etc because the data is EDI format, and the header is written first, etc. We have this scenario. We are using an FTP exit point program. However, those get triggered when the ftp starts, not when the ftp ends. Therefore, if the ftp takes awhile you try polling the data before it is all there. Our customer was amenable to the idea of sending a second file. The exit point program would initiate the poll based on this second file.
