I don't think that's what James' was asking for. For a "fuzzy" search,
one can use the SOUNDEX function within your SQL:

SELECT ORDNUM  FROM ORDFILE WHERE SOUNDEX(ORDNAM) = SOUNDEX('THOMPSON')
