Ah! That's a different problem. Write a *BEFORE trigger program on the file. Let the trigger program pop up the window if the field is invalid. Keep popping it up til the user gets it right. Then all of your programs will be fixed at one time, and all your new programs never have to deal with the issue. Also, from experience, you will want a mask of asterisks to mask all but the last 4 digits when the window is used as a view-only window. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Date: Wednesday, July 02, 2003 3:40:34 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: Display question I think the CHECK(ER) will work for now, along with the RTNCSRLOC keyword. What I am trying do is pop the window after the user has entered the charge card type. This pop up will show the format the card type is to be in and allow them to enter in the values.........pressing enter will populate the card number into the field after the card type field. We have users just entering in the card number into an alphanumeric field, they sometimes are short or long on a number, this causing our credit department delays in getting the payment processed.
