James I would create the following on the restective system.

Try and vary them at about the same time as the system may trya and
autoconifg the controller on the "other side" unless the TR line has
AUTOCRTCTL(*NO).

These configs work if the systems are on the same local ring or, if remote
to each other, the network equiptment is set up to "pass" SNA(SDLC) data.
