If no primary is defined by one or more secondary are, the compiler defaults the first F-spec with Secondary to be the Primary file. So with a regular expression you test for ^.....[Ff]...........[PpSs] with looks for a F in column 6 and a P or S in column 18, in either upper or lowercase. Unfortunately, FNDSTRPDM does not accept regular expressions... Doug
