I'm currently assessing the use of PPRC on a Shark attached to an Iseries. I'm a bit concerned about how you failover to the secondary Iseries. It's seems from my reading of the REDBOOK that it could take a couple of hours to get the system up and running. Also it doesn't mention how to fail back to the original system and what might be involved. I currently have another AS/400 connected to an EMC Symmetrix, so I'm going to look at TimeFinder/SRDF also. >From my reading, it seems that the TimeFinder/SRDF solution would be faster to failover to the secondary Iseries and faster to fail back to the original system. Has anybody been in a similar situation? P.S. I'm not interested in a software solution (Mimix/DataMirror etc.). ********************************************************************** ***DISCLAIMER*** This message and/or any attached documents may contain Privileged and Confidential Information and should only be read by those persons to whom this message is addressed.
