I've discovered the following:
sbl.spamhaus.org
list.dsbl.org
bl.spamcop.net
dialups.mail-abuse.org
rbl.maps.uix.com
blackholes.mail-abuse.org
dnsbl.njabl.org

and

relays.osirusoft.com
block.blars.org
relays.ordb.org
blackholes.easynet.nl

However none from the former list worked for me, but the latter ones did. 
And from the iSeries command line I can do a 
nslookup 2.0.0.127.bl.spamcop.net
and that worked fine.

What I did discover is that if I could at least find a valid host name by 
pinging it (without the ip#) then it would work.  Which shouldn't matter 
according to some other stuff I've read on the internet.

Any suggestions:  our router, our ISP (Sprint), ???
