I don't remember ever trying CLOF on a file opened with RCVF, but the suggestion to insert another CL in the call stack with SHARE(*OPEN) will work with no change to the code, unless you need to re-point the file in the RPG. But I like Rob Bernendt's suggestion best, to just process the file in the RPG program, where you can OPEN and CLOSE files "at will" all you want, and in RPG-IV, you can go over 50 files in one program <great big Cheshire grin>. I did one CL program once where I read the file in CL, even set up a pointer for it and all, but anymore, I even try to put CL type functions into the RPG, where there's lots more special-processing flexibility. - Alan ----- Original Message ----- From: <rob@xxxxxxxxx> To: "Midrange Systems Technical Discussion" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, June 13, 2003 10:31 AM Subject: Re: Close file in CL | Stop using CL.
