I've not yet worked on a system without PDM, but DFU at least used to be part of the same suite as PDM. Perhaps UPDDTA is considered part of the base OS, similar to how the SQL engine is even when you don't have the SQL development kit. Come to think of it, I suppose runtime support for DFU must be part of the base system, for those who develop production systems using DFU... Doug
