This weekend I was upgrading a model 400. The system already had 2x32MB
and 2x16MB. I added 2x32MB and after IPL received SRCA6001730. Thanks to
this very mailing list, I found that the third pair of memory slots is
not usable on a 2130 processor and removed 2x16MB.

Now here's the part that I'm unclear about. After removing 2x16MB, the
system IPL'd clean. However, from SST under Main Storage Resources, the
system reports 32MB at location 0, 64MB at 1, and 64MB at 2. I left the
system with 32MBx4, so where is the 32MB at 0 coming from? Is this
memory on the board somewhere? In other words, is the system truly maxed
out now (32+64+64=160), or do they need 64MBx2+16MBx2 to max it out,
ignoring what the system reports at 0?
