RE: Hershey and SAP - how did the train wreck end?

They're doing just that at a company I came from.  They've been stuffing 8 or 
10 ($250/hr) consultants at a time in full day meetings for the better part of 
a year now and it's just the "blue print phase".  Last I heard, since they were 
having trouble getting three of the SAP modules tied in with the existing 
system, the consultants convinced them to just do the whole system at once!

In all honesty, these projects can fail with any software package.  SAP 
you hear about because it's customers are larger and more noteworthy.

I do hear, however, that SAP is a consultants dream milking the account 
for all it's worth trying to get it to work.
