This isn't a question of how fast does this plane fly. There are many implications: A). Simple ones: 1). speed of processor 2). speed of tape drive 3). how much (arms times capacity) and speed (RPM) of disk 4). were access paths saved 5). were the nature of the objects/members big, or did it contain lot's of little source members B). Complex ones: 6). cross library logical dependancies (where the libraries with the LF's came later in alphabetical order than those of the PF's, which would most likely (but not necessarily completely blow away number 4 above). 7). cross library logical dependancies (where the libraries with the LF's came before in alphabetical order than those of the PF's, which would most likely (but not necessarily completely blow away number 4 above and cause a second restore path across the tapes). 8). cross library journaling dependancies (which if you didn't have an automatic way to restart journaling) 9). an analysis mechanism to read the job log, or did you use the brute force method I agree that 18 hours is long, but it is not unreasonable: Al Al Barsa, Jr. Barsa Consulting Group, LLC 400>390 914-251-1234 914-251-9406 fax http://www.barsaconsulting.com http://www.taatool.com midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on 05/20/2003 05:57:01 PM: > A customers M170 lost a disk and I restored the system from the full backup > (option 21).
