<snip> Joe, if you're going as far back as V4R2 to get these books, you'd be better off using the Softcopy. I have V4R5 of the Softcopy library which includes *most* of the manuals that I use. Most notably the one that's missing is the DDS Reference, for which someone on-list sent me the softcopy version from v4r4. All the CL reference is missing as well, but I find that I don't need that as much what with all the online help with CL. But if I really wanted them, I could just lift them from the last Softcopy library that had them. Of course, this is moot if you prefer HTML over Softcopy. - Dan <snip> I began using the links years ago and just carried them with me. (Partly because we only had one copy of the CD and more because I liked to listen to my music CD's at work and only had one CD drive in my PC). Most of what I need to look up is in them. When I want to use a more up to date function, then I either search the archives, ask the list, search the IBM site (I just don't like the new layout), or if all else fails, just find another way to do it. I like learning and doing new things, but most times nobody notices or cares what the inside looks like as long as the end result is that it does the job the user requires (and that it is written so that the LCD of our staff can understand it).
