Folks,

My 9406-170 (V5R1) was dead this evening when I arrived home.

No Raid. What a bummer. Tried to IPL and I hear clicking noises and
squealing, (and it's stuck on SRC C600450A) so I'm pretty sure that one of the
disks (2X8.5gb) has failed. I made a complete system backup (opt 21) 3 days
ago, so pratically nothing is lost.

Just looked. Now I have a system attention light, and SRC A6005090 (System
Startup failed in unattended IPL mode). Following the diagnostic procedure, I
am now IPL'ing in manual mode.

Got the Disk Configuration Error Report, which indicates that unit 2 has failed.

Now I'm thinking that this is the perfect opportunity to do a clean install of
V5R2. I know which libraries I need to restore from the backups, so I think
this is a no-brainer. Anybody disagree?

Anybody got any working 6713-050's that they want to sell cheap?

Thanks,
Steve Landess
