Uros,

Conversion mapping works fine for text data, such as source code......

What types of files are you trying to access? If I had to guess what's
happening, I'd say you are accessing data members that have packed numeric
values. File translation won't handle packed numerics as that requires a
format change and not just a codepage translation.

You might be trying to access an object with CCSID 65535, not sure if this
would have an effect......

Subject: FW: IFS symbolic link library mapping

Posted this yesterday, just wanted to see if I will have better luck
today with someone answering...

Thanks. FYI, I get a message that says "Incorrect function" and has the
file location when I try to specify auto conversion and try to open a
file.

Created a symbolic lynk to a library on the as400 in the IFS root. Added
a netshare. Tried several text conversion options (simple, with .mbr
extension being automatic), no conversion (obviously did not work). If I
have no conversion, the file comes up in the EBCDIC version, if I
specify a conversion with CCSID 0, any attempt to open results in a
message "Incorect function". Any ideas or will I have to do a CPYTOSMTF?
CCSID 37 does not appear to be an option on the CCSID drop down in the
netserver share setup screen.

Oh don't worry Jerry !

The only reason I still had them was I was tossing them in my "roving
collection box" and it got set into a "storage area" with other stuff.
It was buried today when I went looking for 3.91 diskettes :-)
